Spanish authorities are investigating several alleged cases of sexual assaults against underage girls reported in Ceuta in the context of the migratory invasion affecting the autonomous city. According to health and police sources, at least five girls under 14 years old were treated at the University Hospital of Ceuta in recent days for rape committed by illegal Moroccan immigrants.

The University Hospital received the minors with injuries consistent with the nature of the reported incidents, although authorities have not specified how many of the cases correspond to confirmed assaults or how many are still under medical and judicial evaluation. At least one formal complaint has already been filed with the National Police, which activated the corresponding protocol for sexual crimes against minors.

The investigations are taking place amid the massive arrival of migrants to Ceuta in recent weeks, a phenomenon that has overwhelmed the city's reception capacity. Thousands of people crossed the border from Morocco, including many unaccompanied minors, which forced authorities to set up emergency facilities and strengthen child protection measures.

Health authorities are maintaining strict confidentiality regarding the identities of the minors treated and continue to collaborate with the National Police to provide the necessary information within the framework of the investigations. Spanish protocols establish specialized medical care, psychological assistance, and judicial accompaniment for all underage victims who report such crimes.

Meanwhile, the Spanish Government continues to manage the migratory crisis in Ceuta, where the number of registered minors has significantly increased in just a few days.

Teams from various administrations are working on the identification, care, and protection of the children and adolescents arriving in the city, while mechanisms are being analyzed to alleviate the pressure on reception centers and strengthen the security of the most vulnerable minors.

The case has generated strong concern in Spain regarding the situation of minors amid the migratory emergency. As judicial investigations progress, authorities insist that it will be the Justice system that determines the corresponding criminal responsibilities and clarifies each of the reported incidents.
