The UFC president, Dana White, could be the next press secretary of the White House according to a post made by President Donald Trump on Saturday afternoon on Truth Social. "I am pleased to announce that the great Dana White, a fighter and violent warrior, has received the offer for the position of press secretary of the United States", the president stated.
"I have asked him to bring along assistants —even if some are not from our country— like Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harrison", he affirmed, referencing several prominent professional fighters. "We need these people to defend ourselves from the Lunatic Left. Dana will be a press secretary like no other. Dana, please accept the job!" the president joked.
The last press secretary of the White House was Katie Zacharia, who held the position for a week and gave only one press conference. Her predecessor was Karoline Leavitt, who shone in the role for nearly two years since the beginning of Trump's second term and stepped aside to focus on her family, remaining in the president's inner circle.
After the defeat in the midterm elections last Tuesday, Trump reorganized his cabinet. In this context, the chief of staff, Susie Wiles, left her position and was replaced by Stephen Miller, advisor and architect of Trumpism since the movement's inception. It is unclear if there will be more changes in the White House.
Although White is a close friend of Trump, it is likely that the Republican mogul will continue the search for a new spokesperson, as the White House had previously joked about the possibility of rapper Nicki Minaj being in charge of presidential communications.
