According to a new study, poverty in Chile reached an alarming 22.3% under the administration of communist president Gabriel Boric, whose government faces growing criticism for its disastrous management of the economy and the deterioration of Chilean families' purchasing power.
The new data exposes the brutal level of poverty in Chile and highlights the significant impact that policies promoted by the communist government have had on the country's most vulnerable sectors. Insecurity, economic stagnation, and the high cost of living have deepened social unrest, in a context where thousands of families have seen their material conditions deteriorate.

This is the main conclusion of the Presidential Advisory Commission, which presented its final report to update the way poverty is measured in Chile, based on the analysis that consumption patterns and access to services, among other aspects, require a more rigorous standard for the indicator.
