Google held its virtual event Android Show: I/O Edition and previewed a series of updates focused on artificial intelligence, personalization, and productivity. The company showcased new features for Gemini, significant changes in Android Auto, and even a new line of notebooks called Googlebooks.
The tech giant also confirmed improvements for file sharing between Android and iPhone, new tools for content creators, and a system of AI-generated widgets that promises to change the personalization of smartphones.

What are the new Googlebooks
One of the most striking announcements was the presentation of the Googlebooks, a new family of notebooks designed specifically around Gemini Intelligence.
Google confirmed partnerships with brands like Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo to manufacture different models that will arrive during the U.S. autumn. According to the company, these will be the first computers designed from the ground up to integrate AI natively.
Among the highlighted features is Magic Pointer, a new cursor with integrated Gemini, as well as advanced compatibility with Android phones and tools to create personalized widgets.

Android adds widgets created with artificial intelligence
Google also introduced Create My Widget, a tool that allows users to generate widgets using natural language. The feature will debut first on Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones.
Users will be able to describe what they want to see, and the AI will automatically create a personalized panel. For example, it will be possible to request a widget that shows weekly fitness recipes or information organized according to specific interests.

Gemini can now use multiple apps at the same time
Google also enhanced the “agentic” capabilities of Gemini, allowing the assistant to interact between different applications to complete complex tasks.
Among the examples shown, Gemini will be able to analyze a photo from an event and automatically search for related information on sites like Expedia, or even generate shopping carts using grocery lists visible on the screen.
Android Auto changes completely
Android Auto will receive a significant update with new widgets, adaptable interfaces, and compatibility with screens of various formats.
