In a gesture of political assertiveness, the national senator from the PRO for Córdoba, Carmen Álvarez Rivero, along with the leader Sebastián García Díaz, issued a strong warning to Mauricio Macri: the future of the party in Córdoba and its role in the historical transformation led by Javier Milei are at stake.

Through an open letter and a video shared on social media, the leaders demanded urgent definitions and warned about the possibility of the former president ending up making deals with the radicalism or even with sectors of the peronism.

The demand arises in a context where Milei's administration is advancing with structural reforms aimed at eradicating the traditional political practices that have led the country to crisis.

"We are strongly supporting Milei's transformations, because they are the ideas and values we proposed with Patricia Bullrich", they stated in their letter, reaffirming the ideological consistency of their stance in the face of the uncertainty caused by Macri.

The leaders did not spare criticism toward the leadership of the PRO in Córdoba, describing it as a "great disappointment" and denouncing the lack of effective leadership in the province. "We supported the intervention believing that so much decay could be ordered, but the intervener never came and we remain adrift", they expressed harshly.

In this regard, they pointed out that Macri's indecision could lead to a last-minute political strategy that ends up handing over Córdoba in agreements with the Unión Cívica Radical or even with sectors of the peronism.

"We can't allow this, for Córdoba and for the sake of the transformation plan that Javier Milei is carrying out, with the help of our people, like Patricia, Caputo, and Sturzenegger", they emphasized.

A request for a meeting to demand definitions

On Friday, Macri is scheduled to visit Córdoba, and the signatories of the letter requested a face-to-face meeting to directly present their demand. "Here in Córdoba, it's not about an internal game or a favorable position for you. It's about the possibility of de-peronizing Córdoba in 2027. And we are not going to miss that opportunity", they stressed.

Additionally, they questioned the former president's decision to sideline Patricia Bullrich from the presidency of the PRO assembly, which they interpret as an internal maneuver that harms the sector most committed to the country's political transformation.

With a tone of firmness, the letter concludes by demanding clear definitions and a change of course in the PRO's strategy in Córdoba. "Enough of ambiguity. Are we going to transform the PRO in Córdoba or is it going to be a club of friends and affiliates?", they challenged, highlighting the growing tension within the space.

The stance of Álvarez Rivero and García Díaz aligns with the paradigm shift driven by Javier Milei's government, which has managed in a few months to reorder the economy and advance in reducing public spending, despite the resistance of sectors seeking to maintain the status quo of decades of decadence.

The consolidation of an alliance between the PRO and La Libertad Avanza in Córdoba could be key to strengthening the ongoing transformation and ensuring a 2027 free of populism that has dominated the province for decades.
