Prolonged crying: Pablo Carro, Córdoba deputy, insists on continuing to defend CFK

The national legislator discredits the Court's ruling and continues his shameful media tour, wielding disgraceful arguments

The Kirchnerist lawmaker once again questioned the Judiciary after the ruling that upholds Cristina's conviction for corruption in the Vialidad case. The legislator stated that the decision "will backfire" and predicted that the Inter-American Court will ultimately overturn the ruling. Meanwhile, while the former president accumulates three convictions, Carro doubled down on his support without questioning crimes proven by multiple judicial instances.

"Cristina will grow publicly," the legislator said wittily after the Supreme Court's final ruling. Far from complying with the Judiciary's decision, Carro stated that the conviction will strengthen Cristina's leadership and will reorganize Peronism. "What the ruling will do is awaken a new future for our political force," the national deputy claimed deliriously.

He also said that the former president will gain international support, although he offered no evidence of such supposed positive repercussions abroad. According to the lawmaker, the conviction solves internal problems within his group that they couldn't address in time or with real political will. In other words, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner's conviction has a positive effect on Peronism.

"What was difficult for us to solve, the Supreme Court solves," he expressed in a celebratory tone after the sentence. Instead of condemning the crime, Carro uses the judicial decision as a tool for electoral organization, ignoring the gravity of the facts.

Without evidence and with conspiracies: Carro's arguments to deny proven corruption

The lawmaker questioned the trial even though it was reviewed by all instances and now validated by the country's highest court. "This trial doesn't withstand the slightest analysis," Carro repeated, ignoring that the evidence was admitted by the oral court and by Cassation. He also denounced political ties between judges and Macrismo, although he didn't refute material evidence or explain the benefits to Báez.

Carro asserted that "they never managed to find the money" belonging to Cristina, although the proven crime is the allocation of public works to a close associate. According to him, "they don't have any audio where she says she's responsible," disregarding the probative value of official documents. He even claimed that "it's a case without evidence," even though the Court confirmed that there were systematic irregularities between 2003 and 2015.

Closed defense and denial: Carro insists on exalting CFK as the undisputed political leader

"I'm not neutral, Cristina will remain the undisputed leader," Carro said, reinforcing a logic of impunity based on personal loyalties. He declared that "every activist must exercise leadership hand in hand with Cristina," legitimizing corruption as part of political leadership. He also stated that Axel Kicillof "will fall in line like everyone else," leaving no room for critical or renewing voices within Peronism.

He insisted that Cristina is being used as a political target and denied that there were real legal grounds behind her conviction. "They'll elect her because it's fixed and she'll end up in jail," he claimed, although the ruling was signed unanimously by the Supreme Court. He concluded his regrettable statements by asserting that "sooner rather than later things will return to their place," insinuating a future judicial vindication of his convicted leader.
