PS6 and Xbox: what was leaked about Sony's and Microsoft's new consoles
The names of the PS6 APUs and Sony's new handheld have been leaked, along with technical details of the upcoming Xbox
New information has been leaked about the next generation of consoles from Sony and Microsoft. Although their release is still some time away, the first rumors are already beginning to outline their features.
The code names for the new APUs for PlayStation and Xbox are already circulating online, along with technical details leaked by reliable industry sources.

What will the APUs of the PS6 and the new handheld be called?
The well-known insider Moore's Law Is Dead has shared new information about the upcoming consoles. According to his report:
- Orion would be the code name for the PlayStation 6 APU.
- Canis would correspond to the PlayStation handheld.
These leaks reinforce what had already been rumored: Sony is working on a handheld capable of running PS5 and PS6 games natively, unlike the PS Portal.
A new Sony handheld more powerful than the PS Portal
The PS5 beta firmware introduced a feature that reduces power consumption when playing certain titles. This improvement is intended to make the catalog compatible with a future handheld.

Meanwhile, insider Kepler L2 supported the name Canis as the code for Sony's new handheld.
What is known about the new Xbox?
Technical information was also leaked about the AMD Zen 6 APU, which would be the foundation of the next generation of Xbox. This chip would include:
- A 3-nanometer RDNA "AT2" GPU with up to 70 compute units (CU).
- A 192-bit memory bus, dismissing the rumors of 384 bits.

Kepler L2 also suggested that Microsoft would once again implement a split memory system as in previous generations.
What technologies will the new generation incorporate?
The upcoming consoles are expected to integrate machine learning and advanced frame generation systems.
The PS5 Pro has already taken a step in that direction with its PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution Upscaler, which improves image upscaling. This technology will evolve with FSR 4.

Meanwhile, Sony and AMD are collaborating on Project Amethyst, a joint engineering initiative that will be key to the development of the PS6.
