With more than 320 leaders investigated and 76 convictions for corruption, the nefarious PSOE has accumulated a judicial record that already surpasses its representation in the Spanish Congress

The ethical decline of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE), led by socialist Pedro Sánchez, has reached a point of no return. In a scenario that would embarrass any modern democracy, the ruling party faces a judicial balance that breaks all historical precedents historical: it has more than 320 current or former leaders under investigation for corruption and has accumulated 76 firm convictions.

This figure is so obscene that it far exceeds the 121 deputies that socialism currently holds in the Congress, highlighting that the party is now more present in the courts than in the legislative seats.

This overflow of judicial cases is not an isolated incident, but a metastasis that runs throughout the Spanish geography, from municipalities to the highest levels of the central government. What the Sánchez administration tries to present as individual cases is, in reality, a symbol of the "institutional wear and tear that Spanish socialism drags along".

When analyzing the terminals of this corruption network, the main focus is on Andalusia, a historic socialist stronghold that became the epicenter of the ERE and FAFFE scandals. There, key figures for the party, such as former presidents José Antonio Griñán and Manuel Chaves, already have convictions for the crimes of embezzlement and malfeasance.

The rot in this region also extends to active irregular financing schemes in the courts, such as those arising from Invercaria and UGT-Andalucía.

However, the hunger for public funds from socialism did not stop in the south. The map of corruption expanded alarmingly during the most critical moments for citizens:

Koldo Case: Directly linked to former minister José Luis Ábalos, right-hand man of Sánchez, this scheme investigates irregular contracts for masks during the worst of the pandemic.

Mediator Case: Featuring the former deputy known as "Tito Berni", which includes more than a dozen defendants in Canary Islands for serious charges of influence peddling and corruption.

Balearic Islands and Valencia: In the islands, the shadow of suspicion reaches the management of youth care centers, while in the Valencian community, investigations into the Provincial Council keep numerous local leaders of the PSOE on edge.

This "paradox" of having "more people investigated for corruption than elected representatives in Congress" has been used by the opposition to denounce what they consider a "terminal ethical deterioration" of the party. Although the PSOE seeks refuge in the "presumption of innocence" to weather the storm, the political impact is devastating and has completely eroded the party's image.

In short, the government of Pedro Sánchez is sustained by a structure that today has more pending issues with justice than votes in parliament to defend its management. It is the living image of an exhausted political model that, in its desperation to retain power, has allowed corruption to become the norm rather than the exception.
