Quintar: 'They rally behind noble causes to support dens of corruption'
'They wrap themselves in noble causes to support dens of corruption,' denounced the leader of La Libertad Avanza
La Derecha Diario interviewed the national deputy for Jujuy, Manuel Quintar, a leader of La Libertad Avanza and president of the Justice Committee, to learn his perspective on the current legislative situation, the fall of the Ficha Limpia bill, healthcare management, and the disability system.
Entrevista a Manuel Quintar de La Libertad Avanza
Ficha Limpia and the cultural battle
Regarding the recent fall of the Ficha Limpia bill in the Senate, Quintar stated that it was a hard blow, since the bill has broad social support: "Almost 500,000 signatures endorsed the initiative, which seeks to prevent people convicted in the second instance from accessing public office." According to the deputy, although the rejection was attributed to a single vote, "it was 37 senators who decided not to support it". For Quintar, this reflects the resistance of "the caste" to deep transformations.
Despite the setback, he highlighted that another similar bill was introduced by Deputy Carvajal and that, although it is not identical to the original, it aims for the same result: excluding those convicted from public office. "We're going to promote it from the Justice Committee and from La Libertad Avanza," he assured.
Healthcare system and inherited schemes
When asked about the situation at Garrahan hospital and public health, Quintar —vice president of the Health Committee— was critical of the previous administration. He pointed to discretionary appointments and unions that, according to him, oppose transparency measures such as attendance control.
"They wrap themselves in noble causes to sustain dens of corruption", he denounced, although he reaffirmed his party's commitment to professionals in the healthcare system.
Disability: audits and cleansing
Regarding the situation of the disability system, the legislator denounced that many pensions were granted to people without real medical conditions. "We have people with flat feet or a twitching eye collecting pensions," he stated. He assured that the audits promoted by the National Disability Agency (ANDI) are allowing irregular cases to be detected and anticipated that the recovered resources will be allocated to those who truly need them.
On the federalization of disability policy, Quintar emphasized that health is a responsibility of the provinces. In that regard, he criticized provincial governments that, instead of prioritizing health or education, invest in unprofitable public ventures such as tourist trains or cannabis production without effective controls.
Complaint against the government of Jujuy
Finally, the deputy denounced a smear campaign orchestrated by the Jujuy government. He explained that through official advertising and a "Troll Center" they operate on social networks to discredit opponents.
"These are public resources used for political persecution", he asserted. He also said that he has already filed criminal complaints and that officials involved are being identified.
Recommendations for young people
At the end of the interview, Quintar recommended that young people read President Javier Milei's books and the works of Dale Carnegie. "Reading Milei is understanding what's happening. He not only says it, but he's right," he emphasized. Regarding Carnegie, he highlighted its usefulness for communicating ideas and fighting the cultural battle on an interpersonal level.
