The Avellaneda team is demanding unpaid installments from the Colombian's loan, who is currently a key player for the Brazilian team

Racing filed a complaint with FIFA against Internacional de Porto Alegre for non-compliance with the payments corresponding to the loan of midfielder Johan Carbonero, agreed upon in January of this year.
The agreement established a one-year loan with a purchase option, valued at 4 million dollars, and an initial payment of 350 thousand dollars in three installments. However, the Brazilian club reportedly paid only a portion (about 115 thousand dollars), which led to the formal claim by the Avellaneda institution.
Due to the lack of progress in a possible mediation between the parties, Racing decided to escalate the conflict to the highest governing body in world football. This way, the case will be solved in FIFA's courts, while the player continues competing in Brazil.
La Academia, which still holds the federative rights of the Colombian player, fears that payment issues may recur if the Porto Alegre club decides to exercise the purchase option. For now, the future of the Colombian winger will depend both on FIFA's ruling and on Inter's willingness to settle the debt.

Meanwhile, despite the conflict between both institutions, Carbonero publicly expressed his intention to remain at Internacional: "I'd like to stay, but it doesn't depend on me. Let's hope it happens; in the meantime, I'll keep playing until the tournament ends. My agent doesn't know anything either, we'll be waiting," the player said in an interview with the Brazilian press.
Carbonero's numbers in Brazil
Since his arrival at Inter, the footballer born in Santander de Quilichao, 26 years old, has played 32 matches, scored seven goals, and established himself as an important piece in the team led by Eduardo Coudet, which won the Campeonato Gaúcho after defeating Gustavo Quinteros's Grêmio at the beginning of the year.
Carbonero es un jugador importante en el Inter
Although Carbonero left a significant mark in Avellaneda, where he won three titles (Trofeo de Campeones 2022, Supercopa Internacional 2023, and Copa Sudamericana 2024), his strong performance in Brazil reinforces Inter's interest, although the financial dispute could complicate the player's continuity.
