The former Spanish tennis player has been chosen by the Board of Directors to join the institutional leadership of the entity, a proposal that must be ratified by the member partners in an Extraordinary General Assembly called for November 21.
The decision was made this Wednesday during a meeting in which the leadership led by Florentino Pérez unanimously agreed to promote the appointment. Nadal, member number 67,778 and distinguished as an honorary member, will become part of the governing body if he receives the assembly's support.
The club highlighted the significance of Nadal's figure and the pride his incorporation represents for the institutional structure. "For Real Madrid and for all Madridismo, it is a great pride that a figure of his sporting and human dimension, a reference of Spanish and world sports, becomes part of our Board of Directors and contributes, from this responsibility, to the present and future of our club," stated the official statement.

Once concluded, the Extraordinary Assembly will open, whose only agenda item will be the ratification of the former athlete's appointment, in accordance with Article 46 of the Social Statutes.
