A "rare" light was seen early this morning in the sky over Córdoba.
The phenomenon occurred at 5:50 a.m. this Wednesday and was the topic of conversation on social media.
The intense light crossed the horizon from west to east and remained visible for about a minute.

Witnesses agreed that the phenomenon appeared as a very bright traveling light.
Some described it as silver, others with a yellowish hue, and there were even those who spoke of a trail of fire.
The truth is that the glow was observed not only in Córdoba, but also in Santa Fe and Santiago del Estero, which multiplied the theories on social media.
What astronomers say about the rare light in Córdoba's night sky
"This effect is due to what we know in astronomy as a bolide, which is nothing more than an interplanetary fragment, a piece of rock probably not very large that was left over from the formation of the solar system," said Mercedes Gómez, director of the Córdoba Astronomical Observatory.
"When the Earth moves around the sun, sometimes it attracts one of these fragments. When entering the Earth's atmosphere at high speed, they become incandescent, and that's why they shine, reaching temperatures of 2,000 to 3,000 degrees," she added.

Gómez emphasized that it is a common phenomenon, and it is due to the fact that Earth is not stationary but rather revolves around the sun.
"In this orbiting of Earth around the sun, it can attract these remnants of different materials and then they become incandescent due to the friction they experience when entering the atmosphere at high speeds," she concluded.
