The governor of Catamarca traveled to Paris to promote strategic agreements with French companies and institutions

During his visit to Paris, the governor of Catamarca, Raúl Jalil, held a series of official meetings aimed at promoting investments and strengthening bilateral cooperation in strategic sectors.
The agenda began with a meeting at the French Development Agency (AFD), where infrastructure and renewable energy projects were evaluated together with its executive director, Philippe Orliange, and the director for Latin America, Marie-Pierre Bourza.
Among the highlighted projects, the feasibility of an electrical project between El Eje and Farallón Negro was analyzed, which would require an estimated investment of 90 million dollars. This type of infrastructure is key to supporting the productive growth of the region.
International promotion of Catamarca vicuña fiber
In his meeting with Aline Galimberti, product director of the exclusive Casa Dormeuil, Jalil addressed the possibility of exporting Catamarca vicuña fiber for the production of luxury textiles.

This was an opportunity to position the regional product in high-end markets and explore trade agreements that enhance the local value chain.
Sustainable mining and cooperation with Eramet
Another highlight of the agenda was the meeting with executives from Eramet, a French company with mining operations in northern Argentina.
During the meeting, mining projects and possible investments in Catamarca were discussed, especially those related to lithium and other key minerals for the global energy transition.
French interest in renewable energy and strategic minerals
The agenda concluded with a meeting with the Argentine ambassador to France, Ian Sieliecki, with whom Jalil analyzed the growing interest of French companies in sectors such as lithium, copper, and renewable energies, both wind and solar.
These sectors are considered strategic for Argentina's future energy matrix and open concrete possibilities for direct foreign investment in the province.
