Raúl Jalil presided over a key meeting of the CTIO Lithium
The analyzed statement establishes international guidelines for multinational companies
Governor Raúl Jalil led in Catamarca a new working session of the Tripartite Commission for Equal Opportunities (CTIO) in the lithium sector, a space that promotes dialogue among governments, unions, and companies to advance toward more sustainable mining.
During the meeting, one of the main focuses was the analysis of the Tripartite Declaration of Principles concerning Multinational Enterprises and the Social Policy of the International Labour Organization (ILO), a key instrument that promotes responsible investment and respect for essential labor rights.
Promotion of decent work in the lithium sector
The declaration analyzed establishes international guidelines for multinational companies, such as respect for local labor legislation, ensuring equal opportunities, professional training, and the promotion of social dialogue. In a context of strong growth in the mining sector in northern Argentina, the aim is for these companies to actively contribute to economic and social development with sustainable practices.
The Secretary of Labor Inclusion, Natalia Pacheco, indicated that one of the main objectives of the session was precisely to highlight this regulatory framework and share progress in public policies for labor inclusion, such as the Labor Training Campus implemented by the ministry.
One more step toward responsible mining
CTIO Lithium reaffirms with these sessions its commitment to strengthening tripartite dialogue and consolidating mining that fosters economic development. The implementation of active inclusion policies, together with the promotion of international standards such as those advocated by the ILO, positions the lithium sector as one of the key industries in the country's productive transformation agenda.
