Ready or Not sold one million copies on consoles in 4 days, but faces criticism for censorship
The tactical shooter Ready or Not achieved immediate success following its arrival on consoles. In just four days after its launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, the game surpassed one million units sold. This number doubled the sales pace reached by its PC version, which took 36 days to reach that figure.
Julio Rodríguez, CEO of Void Interactive, celebrated the results and highlighted the team's work. However, the strong commercial performance was overshadowed by significant backlash from the PC community due to the censorship applied to the content of the game.
Success on consoles: a record-breaking launch
Ready or Not was released on consoles on July 15, 2025. In just four days, more than one million users purchased the game, according to official data from Void Interactive. This is a record for the company, which described the debut as "extraordinary."

The arrival of the title on new platforms reignited general interest. PlayStation and Xbox users left positive reviews during the first few days, highlighting the gameplay and atmosphere of the title. This positioned the game as one of the best-selling tactical shooters of the year.
Censorship and anger among PC players
The sales success was accompanied by a controversial decision. To comply with Sony and Microsoft's content policies, the studio removed scenes with explicit violence. But these modifications were not limited to consoles: they were also applied to the PC version.
This caused an immediate negative reaction. In just a few days, the rating on Steam dropped from "mostly positive" to "mostly negative." Players accused Void Interactive of betraying the essence of the game and criticized the loss of rawness, one of the features that gave it its identity since its launch in Early Access.

Growth in users despite the controversy
Despite the discontent, the number of PC players grew. The latest update to the game, which coincided with the console release, added two new missions, four additional weapons, and improvements to the overall experience. This attracted new users and revitalized the player base.
According to Steam data, the title surpassed 31,000 concurrent players, a figure it hadn't reached since its initial debut. Void Interactive stated that it will continue improving the game and listening to its community to address criticism and regain lost trust.
