The reason why the trial for Maradona's death may be declared null
Attorney Rodolfo Baqué raised alarms about a possible twist in the trial over the death of the Argentine idol
Meanwhile, as the statement from Gianinna Maradona is awaited, the lawyer Rodolfo Baqué raised alarms about a possible nullity in the trial over the death of the Argentine idol. In the coming days, it will be clarified what the final decision of the court will be regarding the claim that was raised.
During a recent interview on the show Mujeres argentinas, the lawyer Rodolfo Baqué surprised the audience by revealing that the trial over the death of Diego Armando Maradonacould be rendered legally void. The attorney, who until recently represented the nurse Ricardo Almirón, one of the main defendants, stated that if a key conflict in the defense is not solved, the judicial process could be declared null.

"If these lawyers don't return for the arguments, this trial is null. I'm going to tell you this here today. Everything I've said has come true," stated Baqué to the journalist Virginia Gallardo. With these words, the lawyer put the continuity of the most media-covered trial in recent years in Argentina at risk.
The crux of the conflict is in the legal representation of Ricardo Almirón. According to Baqué, his client wants him along with the lawyer De Vargas to continue representing him during the argument stage. However, both were recently removed from the case, in a decision that has caused controversy.

"It's outrageous that we were removed, but not for me. It's outrageous that you can't choose the doctor you want to operate on you," expressed Baqué, comparing the situation to the inability to freely choose a key professional at a crucial moment.
The lawyer also made it clear that the necessary legal tools are already being prepared to file a formal request for nullity. "I want to tell you about the nullity because this can be presented at any moment," he added.
If the nullity is confirmed, the judicial process would have to be reconfigured from an earlier stage, which would be a severe blow to those seeking justice for the death of Diego Maradona. The coming weeks will be key to knowing if the court accepts the claim and how this will impact the development of the trial.
