Residency exam: none of the 117 summoned doctors were able to validate their score

The second evaluation was conducted following suspicions of fraud in the initial test on July 1

Presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni reported that none of the 117 doctors who retook the Unified Residency Exam managed to validate their score.

The test was held at Palacio Libertad and was convened after irregularities were detected in the first evaluation, which took place on July 1.

According to Adorni, 109 of the applicants were foreign nationals and were part of the group that remained under observation due to suspicious results.

Origin of the new exam

The second round was organized after possible cases of fraud were detected in the first test. Authorities decided to reconvene all the involved applicants to ensure the transparency of the process.

The goal was to confirm whether the original results matched the participants' true level of knowledge.

Context and control measures

The Government emphasized that these types of evaluations are key to ensuring the quality of the public and private health system.

The residency exam is an essential requirement for accessing medical specializations in hospitals and health centers throughout the country.

Adorni stressed that the decision to administer a new test seeks to protect the integrity of the system and ensure that positions are assigned only to professionals who meet the required standards.

No validations and next steps

With zero cases of validation, authorities will evaluate possible sanctions and measures to prevent future attempts at fraud in official exams.

The Executive did not rule out implementing stricter protocols, including greater identity control, exam custody, and digital monitoring of the process.
