The new residency exam was administered to applicants suspected of fraud.
Out of the 141 candidates who were required to retake the exam, most of whom were foreigners, 117 showed up
The Single Exam for admission to medical residencies in Argentina was held again today for 141 applicants, mostly foreigners, who were summoned to take a new evaluation at Palacio Libertad, under strict controls, after serious irregularities were detected in the first test, which took place on July 1 at Parque Roca.
Of those summoned for having obtained suspicious results, 117 doctors appeared this morning to retake the exam and validate their score, according to the Secretary of Health Management of the National Ministry of Health, Alejandro Vilches, in an interview with the TN channel.
Among those who attended this new evaluation was also the Ecuadorian doctor reported for having used digital glasses in order to cheat, as confirmed by the official himself.

The National Ministry of Health, led by Mario Lugones, organized this extraordinary instance for those who showed inconsistent results in the previous evaluation. Meanwhile, the Government of Javier Milei filed a criminal complaint against those who committed fraud or were accomplices in the scandal of the Single Medical Residency Exam, held last July 1.
"The bibliography includes 100% new questions compared to the previous ones. If the new score is not compatible or consistent with the previous one, the residency can't be awarded. If someone scores 90 points under normal security conditions, the result is valid. This is an exam with 117 applicants, which makes any attempt to cheat difficult," explained Vilches.
The call was made official through Provision 61/2025 and Ministerial Resolution No. 2274/25, and is specifically aimed at doctors who scored over 86 points in the July 1 evaluation, but whose academic backgrounds raised doubts about the legitimacy of their results.

After analyzing the 268 cases under suspicion, the Government announced last week that more than half of them had to retake the test, mostly foreigners. For this reason, 141 doctors were summoned, of whom 117 appeared.
In a statement issued a few days ago, the Ministry stated: "141 professionals must retake the written exam on August 7 since it was not possible to verify academic consistency according to the technical criteria approved by Resolution 2303/2025, published in the Official Gazette. Of this total, 8 entrants are graduates of Argentine universities and 133 completed their studies at foreign universities."
