The latest edition of the 2026 Martín Fierro Awards left several talked-about moments, but it also drew attention for some significant absences. One of them was Marixa Balli, a historic angel from LAM.
The situation came to light during an episode of Ángel de Brito's show, when Pilar Smith revealed the reason why the former vedette decided not to attend the ceremony.
“I’m told she was angry, upset, because she was invited with only 10 days' notice, but she felt that was too little time, and that’s why she got upset and didn’t go to the Martín Fierro,” the panelist explained.
Marixa Balli had been invited to the Martín Fierro awards for her participation in MasterChef Celebrity.
The revelation quickly generated a reaction in the studio and opened an unexpected debate about the current relationship between Marixa and the show she was part of for years.
Far from dodging the topic, Ángel de Brito took the opportunity to send a direct message to his former colleague, although true to his style, he did it with irony. “I hope you talk badly about everyone now, Marixa,” he said with laughter.
However, seconds later he made it clear that he still has affection for her and even hinted at the possibility of her returning to LAM. “Come back Cachaca, come back here. We welcome you here, we forgive the cursing, and come over here,” the host expressed, using the historic nickname by which they often refer to the owner of Xurama.
Everything seemed to remain a joke until an unexpected private message completely threw the host off during the live broadcast. “Breaking news: the production tells me they don’t want her to come back,” he revealed, surprised.
The statement generated laughter and confusion in the studio, although immediately the host tried to find out who was behind that stance. “Can I ask the production? Which other angelita wouldn’t they want to come? But someone should step up. Oh, they’re talking from beyond,” he added with an ironic tone.
In this way, an apparent tension behind the scenes regarding the possibility of Marixa returning to occupy a seat on the LAM panel was exposed.
One of the reasons Marixa had abruptly left the show was that she had been called by Telefe to be part of MasterChef Celebrity, which prohibited her from appearing on two open television channels at the same time.
