River celebrated its 125 years of history on May 25 and chose to commemorate it with the launch of a commemorative jersey inspired by the club's early years. The presentation came just hours after the painful defeat against Belgrano in the final of the 2026 Apertura Tournament, a sporting blow that did not prevent the club from proceeding with the celebrations planned for the new anniversary.
The new kit was developed in collaboration with Adidas, featuring Climacool technology, and has a distinct retro style that harkens back to the early decades of the last century. The design includes a polo collar, embroidered details, and one of the first official shields of the institution printed on the classic red band.
Additionally, both the Adidas Originals logo and the shield appear in tones that blend with the predominant white of the jersey, an aesthetic decision aimed at reinforcing the historical profile of the limited edition.
River explained that the jersey aims to honor "the origins" of the institution and highlight "a legacy of greatness that transcends sport and time, forged by the unconditional support of the entire millionaire community". In the official presentation, the club also emphasized "the unmistakable red band that crosses our chest and the history of football".

The special line also includes black shorts and socks, as well as other garments like jackets and joggers with references to the club's past.

The jersey and all the new products are already available through the official channels of Adidas and the club, including the River Museum store.
The commemorative video for the 125 years
Alongside the launch, River released an emotional institutional video to commemorate the anniversary accompanied by the message: "As long as your flag lives, we will raise it with honor". The main protagonist was Norberto Alonso, one of the greatest idols in the club's history, who toured different areas of the River Museum while recalling emblematic moments of the institution. "Happy 125 years, River. I love you", expressed Beto at the end of the audiovisual tribute.
The video included historical images of La Máquina, the achievements of Ángel Labruna, the 1986 Libertadores, the cycle of Ramón Díaz, and the era of Marcelo Gallardo, as well as scenes related to the growth of the Monumental stadium and the constant presence of the fans.
