Federico Ramos Nápoli met with Jarrod Agen to discuss investments and the international expansion of the Argentine nuclear sector
Agen plays a central role within the energy structure of the Trump administration as director of the National Energy Dominance Council, where he participates in coordinating the U.S. strategy to expand energy production and strengthen the country's position in a sector considered key to its economic and geopolitical development.
The Secretary of Nuclear Affairs of the Government of Javier Milei, Federico Ramos Nápoli, met at the White House with Jarrod Agen, director of the National Energy Dominance Council of President Donald Trump, to advance cooperation between Argentina and the United States, attract private investment, and enhance the international projection of the Argentine nuclear sector.
During the meeting, both officials analyzed the scientific, technological, and industrial capabilities developed by the country and the opportunities to deepen the bilateral relationship in a strategic area for both administrations.
Ramos Nápoli emphasized that Argentina has internationally recognized experience in the nuclear fuel cycle, the operation and construction of reactors, the sale of radioisotopes, nuclear medicine, and the training of specialists. “We discussed cooperation between Argentina and the United States, private investment, and the international projection of the Argentine nuclear sector,” the official noted after the meeting.
The meeting took place at a time when the Milei government seeks to give a new boost to the Argentine nuclear sector, with an agenda aimed at integrating the capabilities accumulated over decades with greater participation of private capital, the development of new projects, and an expansion of high-value-added technology and service exports.
In this regard, Ramos Nápoli highlighted that Argentina possesses “world-recognized” scientific, technological, and industrial capabilities, listing among them expertise in the nuclear fuel cycle, the construction and operation of reactors, the production of radioisotopes, and nuclear medicine. “From the Secretariat of Nuclear Affairs, we work to integrate these capabilities and transform them into reliable energy, health, industry, skilled employment, and high-value exports,” he stated.
With an extensive track record in nuclear research and development, Argentina seeks to leverage its experience to establish itself as a reference technological partner and transform that accumulated knowledge into new investments, skilled employment, and greater international integration.
