River changes its main sponsor: Which brand will take Codere's place
The contract with the betting company ends in May and River has already found a replacement
River's jersey is one of the most popular and best-selling, not only in Argentina but also worldwide. Therefore, it is not surprising that multiple global brands consider it a privilege to be the main sponsor of the Millonario's jersey. With the current deal with Codere nearing expiration, the club already has everything ready to announce its new sponsor that will occupy the central part of the jersey.
Although there is still no official confirmation from the institution, everything seems to indicate that the new sponsor would be Betano, another renowned Greek betting company founded in 2019, which will take the place of the main sponsor starting in May, just when the contract with Codere ends. The new agreement would last for three seasons, extending until mid-2028.

Meanwhile, it is said that River's participation in the 2025 Club World Cup was a decisive factor in attracting Betano's interest. The international tournament, which will have great media exposure, will offer an ideal showcase for the club's new sponsor to gain even more visibility.
Despite the fact that the exact amounts involved in this alliance have not yet been disclosed, the club assures that it will be the largest sponsorship in Argentine soccer today in economic terms.
In 2022, Codere became part of River's jersey after replacing Turkish Airlines, and extended its agreement with the club until mid-2025. According to reports at the time, the agreement provided the Millonario with an annual sum close to 3,500,000 dollars + VAT. Currently, there are indications that the new contract with Betano would exceed this amount, which could be announced in early May.
Presence in other clubs
Betano is a sponsor in other teams worldwide, including Aston Villa, Olympiakos, Benfica, Sporting Lisbon, Porto, Atlético Mineiro, and Barcelona of Ecuador. Additionally, the brand is the official sponsor of the Professional Football League, the Brasileirao, the Copa do Brasil, and the UEFA Europa League.
