The Estadio Más Monumental continues to undergo constant transformation. After the renovations that turned it into the most modern and largest-capacity stadium in South America, River is already planning a new ambitious project: the installation of a roof and an expansion that would allow it to exceed 90,000 seats.
Since the beginning of the renovations in 2020, the club currently led by Jorge Brito has committed to a comprehensive modernization that included a European-level hybrid field, new lower stands, and structural improvements that raised the capacity to more than 85,000 spectators. However, the management doesn't plan to stop there.
The roofing of the stadium, mentioned since the project's earliest drafts, has returned to the spotlight among fans, although there is no official confirmation yet. Club sources explain that the results of feasibility studies are still awaited, which will determine the technical and economic viability of the initiative.
