ATE's leader went mad after Garrahan's doctors decided to call off the strike at their hospital
After the Government of Javier Mileiraised the salaries of the resident doctors at Hospital Garrahan and the strike was called off, the violent Secretary General of the State Workers Association (ATE), Rodolfo Aguiar, announced a nationwide strike in hospitals across the country starting at midnight.
Although an agreement was reached with the doctors, Aguiar described the hearing convened by the national Government to solve the conflict at Hospital Garrahan as a "circus," and stated that it became evident that "it is more than clear" that the authorities "have no interest whatsoever" in solving the problems.
"They asked for the hospital to operate. If they want to guarantee its operation, they must ensure that the working and salary conditions of their workers are adequate," Aguiar stated on his social media.

The ATE leader argued that the State, in its role as employer, "emptied" the meeting, which in his view removes its "validity" as a negotiation space.
According to Aguiar, Javier Milei's Government "is breaking" the mandatory conciliation at the pediatric hospital, and he demanded an end to alleged "threats of worker layoffs and increases in their salaries."
Finally, Aguiar announced a nationwide strike in the health sector and in "all hospitals in the country." "We're going to shut down hospitals across the country and will only guarantee minimum emergency coverage," he threatened, putting the health and lives of millions of Argentinians at risk.

The end of the strike at Garrahan
Moments earlier, the resident doctors at the Prof. Dr. Juan P. Garrahan Pediatric Hospital decided to end the strike they had been maintaining. The decision was formally communicated through a letter addressed to the Directorate of Teaching and Research and the Hospital's Board of Directors.
The measure was taken after the authorities ordered them to resume their duties and continue discussions regarding their labor demands.
In the document, the representatives of the Residents' Assembly informed the relevant area that "the pediatrics and articulated residency resumes its regular work activity, taking on-call duty as of today."
