Route 307: Jalil's bet on tourism and interprovincial connectivity
This week, together with his counterpart from Tucumán, Osvaldo Jaldo, he presented the resurfacing of a key section for tourism
The governor of Catamarca, Raúl Jalil, once again highlighted his management approach based on regional cooperation.
This week, together with his counterpart from Tucumán, Osvaldo Jaldo, he presented the repaving of a key section of Provincial Route 307, which connects the Calchaquí Valleys and strengthens the territorial link between both provinces.
A strategic commitment to regional development
The renovated section runs from Amaicha del Valle, in Tucumán, to the border with Catamarca. This is a vital corridor for tourism and commerce in northwestern Argentina, whose recovery was made possible thanks to provincial funds, without assistance from the Nation.
"Route 307 is vital for regional integration, the economy of the Calchaquí Valleys, and the tourism development of our provinces," emphasized Jalil, who especially valued interprovincial coordination in a context of scarce resources.
The project is part of a larger plan that also includes the reconstruction of the section from Ampimpa to National Route 40 and the construction of a bridge over the Santa María River. The total investment was more than $3.7 billion, carried out by the company INGECO SA and supervised by the Provincial Directorate of Highways of Tucumán.
Jalil: "We defend our provinces with dialogue and cooperation"
During the event, Jalil highlighted Jaldo's role and the "close relationship" between Catamarca and Tucumán. "We are open to dialogue, always defending our provinces," he stated. The governor also announced new developments in routes and joint tourist attractions, with a focus on the international positioning of the corridor.
In the same vein, a framework agreement was signed to promote the Tucumán - Catamarca Corridor, with an emphasis on strengthening territorial ties, boosting tourism, and stimulating local economies.
