The governor of Catamarca, Raúl Jalil, distanced himself from the internal line led by Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and openly questioned the decision to intervene in the Justicialist parties in Salta and Jujuy. For the governor, the move was a misstep that became evident after the latest provincial elections.
"I've said it publicly. I don't agree with the interventions in the parties. In Salta and Jujuy, it was a mistake. It's evident," he stated in an interview with Infobae. The statement, which directly targets the former president and current head of the Justicialist Party, reflects the internal tension that persists in Peronism after last Sunday's electoral defeat in those provinces.
"We want Milei to do well"
Jalil also referred to his relationship with the national administration and expressed his willingness to collaborate with President Javier Milei, beyond political and ideological differences. "We want Milei to do well because if he does well, we all do well," he expressed, although he clarified that there are disagreements on issues such as budget management and fiscal policies.
