Raúl Jalil criticized Cristina Kirchner for intervening in the PJ and defended Milei.

'We want Milei to do well, because if he does well, we all do well,' expressed the governor of Catamarca

The governor of Catamarca, Raúl Jalil, distanced himself from the internal line led by Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and openly questioned the decision to intervene in the Justicialist parties in Salta and Jujuy. For the governor, the move was a misstep that became evident after the latest provincial elections.

"I've said it publicly. I don't agree with the interventions in the parties. In Salta and Jujuy, it was a mistake. It's evident," he stated in an interview with Infobae. The statement, which directly targets the former president and current head of the Justicialist Party, reflects the internal tension that persists in Peronism after last Sunday's electoral defeat in those provinces.

"We want Milei to do well"

Jalil also referred to his relationship with the national administration and expressed his willingness to collaborate with President Javier Milei, beyond political and ideological differences. "We want Milei to do well because if he does well, we all do well," he expressed, although he clarified that there are disagreements on issues such as budget management and fiscal policies.

According to Jalil, the priority for governors should be on management and not on party disputes. In that sense, he emphasized that it is necessary to work with the national Executive on key issues such as infrastructure and mining development.

Lithium, mining, and legal security

One of the central points of the governor's speech was the strategic potential of lithium in Catamarca.  "Catamarca can play a crucial role in the world's energy transition," said Jalil, highlighting the global interest in this key resource for the development of clean technologies.

He also warned that to consolidate this path, it is essential to maintain a legal security environment that guarantees clear rules for investments. According to Jalil, the current conditions are "favorable" for attracting international capital, but the political scenario must accompany with stability and predictability.

The governor insisted that the regional economy can be strengthened with consensus policies and long-term planning. "Mining and infrastructure must be a priority, beyond internal differences," he concluded.
