The fashion influencer Geraldine Mayer found herself at the center of a strong controversy after her son, Tomás Cataldi, published an extensive video on social media accusing her of having inflicted psychological and physical abuse during much of his childhood and adolescence. The young man's testimony generated significant repercussions and, a few hours later, the content creator broke her silence to respond to the accusations.
Although she avoided providing a detailed explanation of the events, the content creator denied the allegations made by her son and claimed that the account does not reflect what really happened. Her initial statements were shared by journalist Pilar Smith, who revealed how the conversation with the influencer went.
During a broadcast of LAM (América TV), Pilar Smith reported that she managed to communicate with Geraldine Mayer after the video of Tomás Cataldi went viral.
"She says it's all lies. She was very distressed, she denied everything. She told me she couldn't tell me anything right now, but that it's not as he says. He lived with her in Miami and now he came to Argentina. She was very upset", the journalist recounted about the conversation she had with the influencer.
"He came with his grandmother to study at university. She was very upset, but well, let's see how this story unfolds", the panelist added.
The serious allegations of Tomás Cataldi against Geraldine Mayer
At 20 years old, Tomás Cataldi decided to share an extensive video to recount the situations he claimed to have experienced during his childhood and adolescence. He clarified that his intention was not to file a legal complaint, but to make his experience visible to help others going through similar circumstances.
"I am not filing a complaint. I am just sharing my experience. My intention is to help people who are going through something similar to seek help and not stay silent", he expressed.
Additionally, he mentioned that he currently lives alone, works to support himself financially, and no longer has a relationship with either of his parents. "Today I am well. I live alone and support myself with my job. I have no contact with them", he stated.
In his statement, Cataldi described his mother as a "narcissistic" and "manipulative" person, and claimed that for years he suffered various episodes of psychological violence within the family environment.
"I wanted to share how I survived my narcissistic, manipulative mother and her psychological abuse. Not everything you see on social media is real. My mom posted pictures with my sister and me pretending to have a perfect family, but at home, she yelled at me, humiliated me, and made me feel like everything was my fault," he asserted.
