San Lorenzo is experiencing one of the most delicate crises in its history, with a scenario that combines institutional conflicts, multimillion-dollar debts, and the real risk of bankruptcy. In this context, the club issued an official statement seeking to reassure its members and clarify its situation before the courts.
"In response to the bankruptcy petition filed in court by AIS Investment Fund SCA SICAV RAIF, the institution is actively working with a specialized team to address each requirement immediately and responsibly," San Lorenzo reported.

In the statement, the management led by Marcelo Moretti assured that the club "reaffirms its full willingness before the courts, having replied in a timely and proper manner, providing all supporting and relevant documentation that proves the club's actual situation and the fulfillment of its obligations".
Additionally, the statement keeps that San Lorenzo keeps constant dialogue with judicial authorities and trusts that the presentation and analysis of the information "will allow for the dismissal of any measure that could affect the club's normal operations and the preservation of its assets".
What could happen in the event of bankruptcy
If the courts grant the request of the Swiss fund, San Lorenzo would enter a special regime for sports civil associations. The club would not disappear, but its administration would be placed in the hands of a court-appointed trustee, who would be responsible for managing the assets and income to settle outstanding debts.
This trustee would have broad powers to dispose of assets and generate resources, with a period of three years to regularize the liabilities. During that time, the club would not be able to call elections until its financial situation is solved, although the main objective would be to preserve the assets and avoid the total dissolution of the institution.
