The candidate to lead the transitional committee wants to balance the club's finances and ensure transparency at the upcoming Assembly on October 13
San Lorenzo is going through a deep institutional crisis that, for now, only finds relief in the good performance of Damián Ayude's team. Ahead of the extraordinary Assembly on October 13, Sergio Costantino, from Por Amor a San Lorenzo, became the first voice to confirm his list to lead the club during the transitional government.
"The foundations for the next government must be established. Firm and with transparency. Here, no player percentages will be given up, work will be done with what the club generates, with what it can generate, and by carrying out a thorough economic reorganization. The first thing that must be done is to pay off the fund," Costantino stated on Pasión Azulgrana, referring to the loan known as the Swiss fund, which is about to file for the club's bankruptcy.
The official clarified that this loan was requested to face the pandemic crisis and emphasized: "San Lorenzo was the only club that paid 100% of salaries during the pandemic".

Meanwhile, Costantino described the magnitude of the current operating deficit: "Today it is more than 600/630 million pesos, which is being reduced by dealing with things that are really being done poorly today. For example, an overdraft of 150 million pesos that is paid every month, as a result of having an overdraft, not making ends meet, requesting advances, and using that to cover obligations". To reverse this, he proposed recovering income from television rights, with personal guarantees from members to address the deficit and the restrictions.
Regarding the Assembly, he clarified that he will present his complete plan and stressed the importance of consensus: "Any plan that is better is welcome, because what I would have liked during this time is to be able to discuss a plan, put it on the table, and come up with the best plan together". He also made clear his intention to ensure that the president of the transitional committee doesn't run in the 2027 elections.
Another focus of his proposal is the Ciudad Deportiva:"A reform must be carried out in everything related to the youth sector of the Ciudad Deportiva, from the locker rooms to their lounge and access".

He also did not rule out construction for a future stadium on Avenida La Plata: "There is an initial declaration signed by the entire board, that's why I said the 8,000 square meters were there. The stadium is always discussed, but it is impossible to build it without that. My name is at stake and they say I'm speculating, and here I'm not speculating".
Costantino also proposed that any future debt be paid with the personal assets of the sitting president and that a percentage of player sales go to the youth divisions. Regarding the terms, he stated: "I believe it must return to 3 years".
Finally, he made it clear that his relationship with Matías Lammens has been nonexistent since the last elections and defended his management against accusations of asset stripping: "I live with pain because of that. I don't feel that's the case, that they say you took it all, when in reality I contributed a lot of things".
