The Honor Tribunal of San Lorenzo de Almagro approved by majority to request the removal of Marcelo Moretti as club president, his absolute disqualification from holding positions in the institution and his expulsion as a member, considering him responsible for offenses classified as "very serious," according to the club's media outlet La Cicloneta.
The decision of the disciplinary body (composed of Luciano Fiszbein, Rubén Arena, Leandro Chizzini, Carina Henríques, Diego Civile, Matías Picasso, and María Galtieri) was made with 6 votes in favor and only one against. The ruling is based on Article 35, section 3, letters d) and h) of the Social Statute, as well as other articles of the internal regulations that were not publicly detailed.
The document has already been sent to the Assembly of Representatives, which must evaluate the accusation and ultimately decide whether to endorse Moretti's removal and expulsion, who was elected president at the end of 2023. Meanwhile, the Tribunal recommended to the Board of Directors to suspend him immediately under Article 40 of the Statute, to protect the normal institutional functioning and prevent further reputational damage.
