Julio Lopardo was blunt about Moretti's future: 'I don't think he will come back'
The interim president of San Lorenzo spoke about the massive debts and the restrictions, and criticized the management of his predecessors
San Lorenzois going through one of the most delicate institutional moments in recent years, and its president Julio Lopardo did not avoid the subject. In a conversation with Picado.TV, the current leader of Ciclón gave a harsh diagnosis of the club's finances, strongly criticized previous administrations led by Matías Lammens and Marcelo Tinelli, and was clear regarding the current leadership after the departure of Marcelo Moretti.
"The debt they left us exceeds 30 million dollars. Unfortunately, at the time nothing was done to address that situation. It was the time to act, to tell San Lorenzo fans the truth as soon as the elections were won," Lopardo stated, highlighting differences with the outgoing administration. He added with a hint of self-criticism: "They did not say it, with the intention of solving the problems, and it was a mistake."
Meanwhile, the blaugrana president also confirmed that he has already been in contact with Claudio Chiqui Tapia, head of AFA, although he clarified that the financial issuewas not the focus of the conversation. "We did not talk about financial matters with Tapia, we agreed to keep meeting to continue talking. We did not discuss the financial side, but we did talk about the club's complex situation," he commented.

One of the most urgent issues San Lorenzo faces is the large number of transfer bans that prevent the club from signing new players. On this, Lopardo was blunt: "We are under transfer bans. That's why we are working to lift them so we can bring in reinforcements, and surely, once we lift them, others will likely be imposed."
This situation seriously affects the club's sports planning for the second half of the year, leaving the Boedo club with very little room to maneuver in the transfer market.

When asked about the future of the club's leadership and the figure of Marcelo Moretti, who left the presidency weeks ago, Lopardo stated: "I believe Moretti will not return, even though he hinted at it several times. I have already requested a meeting with him several times, but it is his decision and he will know what he has to do."
With a multimillion-dollar debt, an unstable sports present, and a club shaken by institutional crisis, San Lorenzo is trying to rebuild itself. Lopardo's words reflect that the road ahead will be complex and that transparency will be key in this process.
Moretti and Sánchez Gamino must appear to testify
Meanwhile, Marcelo Moretti and Francisco Sánchez Gamino must appear to testify this Tuesday. The Prosecutor's Office specializing in mass events of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires opened an ex officio investigation on April 22, after the report broadcast on the program TL9 Denuncia, summoning both to give statements.

The case seeks to determine possible criminal responsibilities of Moretti and Sánchez Gamino, involved in video recordings that would show serious crimes against the club's administration. Among the incidents under investigation are the alleged irregular collection of 25,000 dollars for adding a minor to the youth divisions, without institutional backing or formal entry, and the unilateral hiring of a charter flight and accommodation for 220,000 dollars to travel to Ecuador, all carried out with club funds and without authorization from the oversight bodies.
