Santilli at the Rural Exhibition: "Argentina is on the move"

The Chief of Cabinet of Ministers, Diego Santilli, participated this Thursday in the opening ceremony of the 138th International Livestock, Agriculture, and Industry Exhibition, organized by the Argentine Rural Society (SRA) at the Palermo fairgrounds.

During the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony, the official highlighted the role of the agricultural sector in the country's economic recovery and assured that "Argentina is back on track", supporting the measures implemented by the government of President Javier Milei.

"I am here to congratulate you and thank you for this 138th exhibition. I know the effort that our fields and our agro-industry make; they are the ones who know what it means to compete and what productivity is", expressed Santilli during his speech.

He highlighted the Government's support for the agricultural sector

The Chief of Cabinet stated that, since the beginning of the administration, the national Government has been working to eliminate obstacles and reduce the tax burden that has affected the productive sector for years.

"From day one, President Javier Milei has been lifting the foot off the neck of those who produce and work every day", he affirmed.

In this context, he recalled that the Executive will continue to reduce export duties for wheat and barley, a measure aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of agriculture and increasing production.

"This year we will end up lowering the duties on wheat and barley by two points", he noted.

Lower tax pressure and greater competitiveness

Santilli also highlighted the progress of the Government's economic program and emphasized that tax pressure will continue to decrease.

As he indicated, by 2026, tax pressure will represent 26.7% of Gross Domestic Product, well below the 32.6% recorded in previous years.

The reduction of taxes is one of the main pillars of Javier Milei's economic policy, aimed at encouraging investment, increasing production, and improving the competitiveness of sectors that generate employment and foreign exchange.

"We are on the right track"

At the end of his speech, Santilli stated that the reforms promoted by the Government are beginning to reflect in the economy and agreed with the diagnosis made by the president of the Argentine Rural Society, Nicolás Pino.

"We are on the right track and we are convinced that, as Nicolás Pino just said, Argentina is back on track", he concluded.

The Palermo Rural Exhibition brings together thousands of producers, entrepreneurs, agro-industrial leaders, and national authorities each year, consolidating itself as one of the most important events on the Argentine agricultural calendar.
