Schiaretti forms a new electoral front with Valdés in Corrientes

Hacemos Unidos por Nuestro País joined the provincial ruling coalition led by the governor of Corrientes

The "Vamos por Corrientes" alliance added the national space Hacemos Unidos por Nuestro País this Tuesday, led by Juan Schiaretti. The incorporation takes place as part of the closing of fronts ahead of the August 31 elections. In those elections, Corrientes will renew provincial authorities in the Executive and the Legislature.

Corrientes's ruling party celebrated the entry of the new political partner, which will contribute national structure and local figures. In total, the coalition led by Governor Gustavo Valdés is now made up of 34 parties. The announcement was made through the social network X, highlighting the presence of Elvira Miranda as the local representative of Schiaretti's space.

The incorporation of the former governor of Córdoba into the provincial alliance adds to other recent moves on the national stage. Days ago, Schiaretti shared an event with Facundo Manes in La Plata, where both agreed on the need for a centrist alternative. He also held political meetings in Santa Fe and contacts with Mendoza's governor, Alfredo Cornejo.

At every step, Schiaretti has made it clear that he won't join the more "radicalized" poles of the political scene. The strategy seeks to bring together representatives from different spaces under the same federal and centrist umbrella. The coalition continues to advance gradually, with an emphasis on programmatic agreements.

A different scenario in Córdoba

In Córdoba, however, similar moves by Schiarettismo are not expected. According to sources close to the former governor, there is no room to replicate the agreement reached in Corrientes. In the Mediterranean district, Hacemos Unidos por Córdoba will continue with its local strategy without expanded alliances.

With La Libertad Avanza still defining candidates in the province, there is room for more balanced contests. Both Radicals and Peronists see an electoral opportunity in this context. However, there are no signs that a common front between them is being explored.

Córdoba's Radical representatives explained that Corrientes's scenario responds to very particular conditions. In that province, organic Peronism answers to Kirchnerismo, which pushes other sectors to seek alternatives. The provincial ruling party also faced a distancing from its candidate, who chose to approach La Libertad Avanza.

That accelerated the need to broaden the governing front with heavyweight allies. In that context, Hacemos Unidos por Nuestro País found a place as part of an expanded strategy. Corrientes's Radical party valued the agreement as part of a plural construction with future projection.

National strategy, local caution

Schiaretti's circle insists that the general objective is to build a federal, non-Kirchnerist Peronism. Agreements with governors seek to generate a shared platform without imposing identical formulas in all districts. In Córdoba, that caution remains a firm line.

The relationship with Radical leaders such as Cornejo or Lousteau is also advancing on a national level. The dialogue between those spaces revolves around the need to avoid extreme polarization. The agreements focus on economic, institutional, and federal development proposals.

Meanwhile, Córdoba's Radical internal contest remains active and with divergent views on the strategy to follow. Some sectors expressed discomfort over the differences between the positions taken at the local and national levels. The Más Radicalismo space argues that there are decisions that create confusion among their voters.

Despite that, the national coalition continues its course and seeks to consolidate itself before the 2025 electoral calendar. Schiaretti is betting on building a centrist bloc with territorial reach, but which currently has little electoral intention. According to his circle, he will do so without compromising the autonomy of local strategies in each province.
