A famous Macrista Twitter user from Rosario was arrested for drug trafficking

This is Gustavo Bruzzone, linked to an attempt to traffic 1,600 kilograms (3,527 pounds) of cocaine from Rosario to Europe

One of the most wanted drug traffickers in Argentina, Gustavo Alejandro Bruzzone, was arrested in recent hours in the Buenos Aires locality of Haedo. The news was confirmed by the Minister of National Security, Patricia Bullrich, through her official account on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

The official emphasized that Bruzzone, a self-declared Macri supporter on social media, was considered "one of the ten most wanted drug traffickers in the country" and that his capture was carried out by the Narcotics Investigation Department of the Argentine Federal Police (PFA). The operation took place in Buenos Aires Province, where the accused had been a fugitive for almost two years.

A key figure in the Rosario-Dubái case

Bruzzone is linked to the so-called Rosario‑Dubái Operation, a high-profile case in which an attempt was made to export 1,600 kilograms (3,527 pounds) of cocaine hidden in animal feed bags, with Europe as the final destination. The investigation determined that the drugs left Rosario, traveled along the Paraná‑Paraguay Waterway, and were shipped through ports in the north of the country. The shipment had an estimated value of more than 60 million dollars.

The detainee is believed to have worked in coordination with José "Tano" Sofía, a drug trafficker sentenced to 11 years in prison and considered one of the leaders of the criminal organization. According to specialized media, the structure had local logistical support and international reach.

During the operation, a Peugeot 208 vehicle and Bruzzone's cell phone were seized. Agencies such as AFIP, the General Directorate of Customs, and international agencies like the DEA also participated in the operation.

Bullrich's political statements

Patricia Bullrich used the announcement to send a political message:  "Criminals find impunity and refuge in Buenos Aires Province. While some look the other way, we search for them, we find them, and we make them pay," wrote the minister in her tweet, directly targeting Axel Kicillof's provincial administration.
