Sebastián Villa is going through one of the best moments of his career. After a standout semester with Independiente Rivadavia, where he was one of the figures of the Torneo Apertura and the Copa Libertadores, the winger broke his silence and referred to his current football situation, his recent history, the interests of River and Boca and his desire to play in the World Cup with the Colombian National Team.
In an interview with TyC Sports, the forward highlighted the process he is experiencing in Mendoza, which he defined as key to his personal and professional reconstruction. "I am happy with what we have done here, not only at the national level but also internationally. It is a very beautiful process. We are a very humble team and no one believed in us, but we have a lot of faith in our group", he explained. He emphasized the influence of coach Alfredo Berti: "Alfredo's trust has been very important for me, for my career, and for my game".

In another part of the conversation, he was asked if he considered himself the best current player in Argentine football. Far from putting himself on a pedestal, he avoided defining himself as the Top 1: "I don't put myself first, there are great players whom I respect a lot. I do my job, I have great respect for the careers of Leandro Paredes and Di María. I don't consider myself the best, but I work to be the best".
His arrival at Independiente Rivadavia and his personal conflicts
On another note, the Colombian also analyzed what his arrival at the Mendoza team was like amid a strong personal background. "I was not in a very good moment in my life. They told me that here I would be calm and that they would take care of me. I needed to come to Mendoza to mature and be reborn. I only have words of gratitude for the club and for the president", he shared.

In that vein, he also acknowledged past mistakes: “I made mistakes, I trusted people I shouldn't have trusted, but I am a person who believes in second chances and I have always been at the service of justice for everything they needed. Now I have a beautiful family.”.
