ADN added four new assembly members and positioned itself as the leading force in the Assembly

President Daniel Noboa stated that his movement, National Democratic Action (ADN), achieved a majority in the National Assembly after adding four legislators. With 70 seats, it surpassed the Citizen Revolution bloc, which had been the leading force since the February elections.

"We already have three, well, four more assembly members who have joined our caucus, a total of 69," Noboa declared on Radio Sucesos. This number later consolidated to 70, surpassing the 67 Correa-aligned assembly members, positioning ADN as the largest bloc in the Legislature.

After the February elections, the Correa-led movement had secured 67 seats, one more than ADN. However, the government's political openness allowed for new support and reversed that initial difference. Noboa has not yet detailed the names of the new allied legislators.

Meanwhile, the Citizen Revolution is trying to strengthen its position with the support of the indigenous Pachakutik movement, which has nine seats. Luisa González signed an agreement with their leaders to gain their support in the second electoral round on April 13.

With 70 seats, ADN still hasn't reached the absolute majority of 77 seats. Nevertheless, this advantage gives it greater legislative maneuverability. In a fragmented political scenario, Noboa demonstrates skill in building governance without relying on unstable alliances.

ADN's growth reflects strong and proactive leadership, focused on key reforms. In contrast to the stagnation inherited from Correa's socialism, this new majority allows for the promotion of initiatives with a future vision.
