The National Government announced the implementation of a new curfew that will apply from May 3 to 18, 2026 in several areas of the country, as part of security measures.
The mobility restriction will be applied from 23:00 to 05:00, after the evaluation of the results obtained during the last state of emergency in territories considered critical.
The measure will reach nine provinces: Guayas, Manabí, Santa Elena, Los Ríos, El Oro, Pichincha, Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas and Sucumbíos.
Curfew will start to take effect from 23:00 to 05:00
It will also apply in the cantons of La Maná, Las Naves and Echeandía, in the province of Bolívar, as well as in La Troncal, in the province of
Cañar.
The Government indicated that this provision seeks to strengthen territorial control and contain levels of violence in areas affected by organized crime.
The authorities indicated that they will continue to evaluate the situation to determine the need to extend or modify the measure in the coming weeks.
