What happened in Addison County?
The truck, identified as a Penske box truck, exploded while it was heading to a house to carry out a move. The blast surprised residents, who at first thought it was a rehearsal for Memorial Day.
"I thought the fireworks had started early," a neighbor told Action News. "But that explosion was too much."
The cause of the explosion
According to the Addison Fire Protection District, the truck had a propane leak. This leak likely caused a buildup of gas that, upon contact with a spark or heat source, triggered the explosion.
