The digital community of Jalisco woke up in shock after the murder of Valeria Márquez, a 23-year-old influencer and model, who was attacked in her beauty salon during a live broadcast.
The crime occurred this Tuesday afternoon, around 6:30 PM, at Blossom The Beauty Lounge, a venue located in Zapopan, a suburb of Guadalajara, which belonged to the young woman.
According to initial reports, a man showed up at the place pretending to be a delivery person. As soon as he entered, he drew a weapon and shot Márquez. He then escaped on a motorcycle.
A rising figure in the digital world
Valeria Márquez had gained notoriety on social media for her videos about beauty, fashion, viral challenges, and dances. She had more than 95,000 followers on TikTok, and some of her content exceeded 800,000 views.

In 2021, she was crowned Miss Rostro in Guadalajara, which catapulted her to greater visibility in the digital world. Since then, she had positioned herself as one of the most active young influencers in the region.
At the time of the attack, Márquez was wearing a pink top and holding a stuffed animal, as recorded by the broadcast that was interrupted seconds after the shooting. An employee was the one who cut the live stream after the violent episode.
