The Mercedes driver achieved his second victory of the season, the papaya team secured its constructors' title, and Alpine still hasn't scored any points
Undisputedly, George Russell took victory at the Singapore Grand Prix, a race that once again delivered excitement in its final laps despite the difficulty of overtaking. The British Mercedes driver started from pole, controlled the start and maintained the lead with a steady pace, while Max Verstappen tried to close in with a different strategy by fitting soft tires.
The Red Bull driver, however, couldn't capitalize on that choice and had to settle for second place, pressured in the final meters by Lando Norris. The McLaren driver benefited from backmarker traffic to enter the DRS zone, although he couldn't overtake the Dutchman.
Norris had been involved in an incident in the opening laps when he made contact with his teammate Oscar Piastri in an aggressive maneuver that left him with a damaged wing. Despite the contact, he held on to third place, while Piastri finished fourth, followed by Andrea Kimi Antonelli, the young Italian Mercedes driver who completed a solid performance.

Further back, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton crossed the line sixth and seventh, while Fernando Alonso recovered from a poor pit stop to salvage eighth place. Carlos Sainz, after his disqualification the previous day, fought back strongly and closed out the points in tenth place with his Williams.
Meanwhile, with the 27 points earned between Norris and Piastri in this race, what was expected was confirmed: McLaren clinched the constructors' championship. With six races remaining, the papaya team opened up an unassailable lead over its closest pursuers, Mercedes and Ferrari, and secured its second consecutive title.

In parallel, Franco Colapinto finished 16th, after a promising start in which he managed to run between 12th and 13th positions. Alpine opted for a risky strategy with soft tires, but traffic and tire wear on the Marina Bay streets worked against him. After switching to mediums on lap 14, he lost pace and was overtaken by several rivals in the final stretch.
The Argentine managed to stay ahead of Gabriel Bortoleto's Sauber and completed the race on a circuit that is always demanding, where Pierre Gasly, his teammate, finished in nineteenth position after starting from the pit lane.
