Sonic Rumble, the new party game starring SEGA's iconic character, has confirmed its global launch for November 2025 on iOS, Android, and PC devices via Steam. It will be the first joint project between Rovio, creators of Angry Birds, and SEGA since the acquisition of the Finnish studio in 2023.
The title aims to attract both classic fans and new players, betting on renewed gameplay and a strong online multiplayer component.
Development, delays, and improvements after the beta
Initially scheduled for 2024, the launch of Sonic Rumble was postponed several times after a beta phase that gathered valuable feedback from the community. Based on those tests, SEGA and Rovio decided to redesign multiple aspects of the game to optimize the user experience.
Among the most notable improvements are the incorporation of Sonic's classic abilities, a greater variety of stages and game modes, and the inclusion of battle royale-type dynamics that allow up to 32 players to compete simultaneously.

Each match proposes eliminating rivals round by round, in a fast-paced format that combines speed, strategy, and chance, traditional features of the most successful party games.
