Sonyhas launched its latest revision of the PS5 Slim Digital, known as CFI-210 or Chassis-E, and it's already generating controversy. The console keeps the same price but reduces storage capacity and adjusts several internal components.
The model is sold in several international markets and aims to optimize costs, although the changes are causing concern among the gaming community. Technology and gaming experts, such as Austin Evans, have thoroughly analyzed the modifications.

Reduction of internal storage
The most significant change is the decrease of the SSD from 1 TB to 825 GB. The usable space for installing games is about 667 GB, compared to 848 GB in the previous version.
This 27% drop in actual storage is causing dissatisfaction among players, especially due to the increasing size of current titles. The official price remains at about $950.58, with no performance improvements.
Internal and design changes
The CFI-210 introduces modifications to reduce costs. The internal steel plate went from 1 mm (0.04 inches) to 0.5 mm (0.02 inches) and the number of components was reduced, lowering the weight to 2.40 kg (5.29 pounds). The cooling system was also adjusted, with two heat pipes instead of three.

The design is now completely matte, replacing glossy and dull areas, which provides better protection against scratches and fingerprints. The USB 3.0 ports changed from blue to black, joining the monochromatic palette.
Performance and behavior
Comparative tests with the 2023 version show that there are no improvements in power or energy consumption. The average temperature rises by just 2°C (3.6°F), with no significant impact during normal use.
