Sony Pictures released the latest trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the new Spider-Man movie directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. The film hits theaters on July 31, 2026.
This is the continuation of No Way Home (2021) and aims to kick off a new trilogy with Tom Holland in the lead role. Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
No Way Home ended with Peter Parker asking Doctor Strange to erase him from everyone's memory to protect the multiverse, including his girlfriend MJ. According to the official synopsis, in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Peter fights crime full-time in a world that no longer remembers him.
The pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him causes a change in Peter that he may not be able to control. That transformation, however, could be the only thing capable of stopping a new threat to the city: a powerful villain that no one can see.
In addition to Tom Holland, the film features Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds. The cast also includes:
Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher
Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk
Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion
Eman Esfandi as MJ's new boyfriend
Trammell Tillman as Bill Metzger from the Damage Control Department (DODC)
Sadie Sink also appears in a yet-to-be-confirmed role, although all indications suggest she will play the main villain. Zabryna Guevara will reprise her role as Sheila Rivera, seen in Daredevil: Born Again.
The first half of the trailer reviews moments from the previous trilogy, including the farewell between Peter and MJ, where he promises to come back for her. When he finally finds her working in a diner, he loses his confidence and only asks for a coffee.
The second half focuses on the action of Spider-Man: Brand New Day: Banner's transformation into Hulk, Spidey's fight against members of the Hand, and another glimpse of the mysterious hooded figure. Spidey is also seen swinging through the city with MJ in his arms after she agrees to trust his warning about the danger she faces.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day premieres in theaters on July 31, 2026.
