In a new electrifying edition of the Spanish clásico, Real Madrid defeated Barcelona. At Santiago Bernabéu, Los Merengues prevailed over Los Culés by 2-1 and pulled away at the top of LaLiga.

The clásico would start off with a bang with an early penalty for Real, the result of a foul by Lamine Yamal on Vinicius Junior in the 2nd minute. However, after a VAR review, the referee of the match overturned his decision upon determining that there was no infraction.

After the initial disappointment, Los Merengues would quickly find the first goal of the clásico with a stunning strike from Kylian Mbappé from outside the box. Nevertheless, once again to the home side's dismay, the play would be disallowed for a marginal offside by the former PSG player.

Finally, as the saying goes, the third time was the charm: Real Madrid would finally open the scoring in the 22nd minute thanks to Mbappé himself, after a superb assist from Jude Bellingham.

With the lead, Los Blancos would clearly dominate the offensive actions of the match, neutralizing a Barcelona side that could barely reach Courtois's box and generating several dangerous chances in search of increasing the lead.

Despite the adverse situation, Barça would find a surprising equalizer given the circumstances. The Catalan side pressed high as Madrid tried to play out from the back and, in the 38th minute, Marcus Rashford would assist Fermín López, who would score the temporary 1-1 with a powerful shot from the middle of the box.

After a brief back-and-forth from both teams, in just five minutes the home side would regain the lead with a goal from Bellingham, who only had to tap the ball in after a headed cross from Éder Militão that left Szczęsny out of position.

Although Los Blancos would score a third goal just before halftime, the goal would be disallowed for an offside by Mbappé, and Barcelona breathed a sigh of relief with hopes of turning things around in the second half.

In the second half, in the 48th minute Real Madrid would be awarded a penalty for a clear handball by Eric García. However, Szczęsny would save the shot from the French number 10, rescuing Los Culés and becoming one of the standout players of the match.

In the 66th minute, the first substitutions of the match would take place. First, for Real Madrid, Brahim Díaz would come on for Arda Güler and later Dani Carvajal and Rodrygo would replace Federico Valverde and Vinicius Jr, who left visibly frustrated and went straight to the locker room. Meanwhile, Barcelona would also make changes minutes later: Ronald Araújo and Marc Casadó for Eric García and Ferran Torres respectively.

Towards the end of the match, Roony Bardghji would come on for Pau Cubarsí for the blaugrana, while for Los Blancos Gonzalo García and Dani Ceballos would replace the stars of the match, Mbappé and Bellingham, thus leaving Franco Mastantuono without a chance to make his debut in a Spanish clásico.

In the final minute of the 10 added, Pedri would receive his second yellow card after a hard tackle on Tchouaméni and would be sent off, sparking a scuffle on the benches that did not escalate, aside from a yellow card for Militão. With nothing more to offer, the match would finally end with a 2-1 victory for Real Madrid and a minor altercation between players from both teams.

With this result, Real Madrid extended its lead over Barcelona in the LaLiga standings and leads with 27 points from the first 10 matches, compared to 22 for its clásico rival. The next fixture for Los Blancos will be against Valencia at the Bernabéu next Saturday, November 1 for matchday 11, while Los Culés will face Elche at home the following day.
