The creator of 'Squid Game' is negotiating with Netflix for a fourth season.
The creator of Squid Game left open the possibility of a season 4, but with one condition
The third season of Squid Game was a success on Netflix, although it didn't convince the entire audience.
Now, the creator of the series has left the door slightly open to a fourth installment, although with a clear warning for the platform.

A series that marked a turning point
The craze for the Korean story didn't fade with the third season. Although many believed that the story had already ended, Hwang Dong-hyuk surprised with his latest statements.
In an interview with Good Morning America, the creator acknowledged that he doesn't rule out a new season: “Never say never. It's still hanging in the air,” he said, leaving the possibility open.
A condition to continue
In another interview with Variety, Hwang was clearer about his role if the series continues: “If they want to make another one, I think it's clear that I should be the one to lead it.”

With that, he made his position clear: if there is a season 4, it would only be made if he is leading the project. He doesn't want to delegate creative direction.
What about the American version?
Regarding Squid Game: America, the version that is in development for the American audience, Hwang clarified that his role will be more limited.

“It's enough for me to share a few ideas. I have no intention of getting deeply involved in something like that”, he explained, distancing himself from that adaptation.
An ending that left cracks
Season 3 was marketed as a definitive ending, but it left controversies. Many fans questioned the outcome and the evolution of the characters.
In light of that, a new installment could be the opportunity to tie up loose ends or expand the universe in a more ambitious way.
