Netflix releases the trailer for Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 and confirms its brutal story
The new season of Edgerunners leaves David behind and opts for a story of revenge and chaos in Night City
Netflix has confirmed the return of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the successful anime from CD Projekt RED, with a new season that already has its first teaser.
The trailer devastated many fans: it makes it clear that David isn't coming back, and promises a completely different, darker, and more brutal story.

A new story with different protagonists
The second season of Edgerunners will feature 10 episodes of about 25 minutes each, just like the original 2022 release. However, this time, it's a different narrative with new characters.
According to confirmation from CD Projekt RED, the focus will be on a story of revenge and redemption, which will explore other corners of Night City. The phrase that closes the teaser makes it clear: "David is dead."
A new director and a more cinematic tone
The new showrunner is Kai Ikarashi, a name associated with Studio Trigger, also responsible for anime such as Promare and Kill la Kill. They promise a bolder and more cinematic staging.
Cyberpunk Edgerunners temporada 2 - Tráiler
The creative team includes designer Kanno Ichigo and writers Masahiko Otsuka and Bartosz Sztybor, the latter also known for the official Cyberpunk universe comics.
What is this new season about?
The official synopsis remains quite vague, but it suggests a more introspective approach. The aesthetic will be the same: a technological, hyper-violent and nihilistic chaos, marked by the cult of image and destruction.

"When the world is blinded by spectacle, how far do you have to go for your story to matter?" the trailer asks.
