Students could be sanctioned for incidents and flares from U. de Chile fans
The Chilean crowd present at Estadio Uno welcomed their team with fireworks and fought at the entrances to the field, something for which Conmebol could sanction Pincha
Estudiantes' 2-1 defeat against Universidad de Chile in the second matchday of Group G of the Copa Libertadores was already a tough blow to take, but the situation could worsen due to a possible sanction from Conmebol as a result of incidents at the stadium entrances and the use of pyrotechnics by the Chilean fans.
This is because U fans managed to enter the stadium through the corner of 115 and 57 with flares to welcome their team. As soon as the players stepped onto the field, a considerable amount was lit in the area occupied by the 2,500 visiting fans.

As a result of this event, alarms are raised for León, since there are precedents where the use of pyrotechnics ended up generating financial fines for the home club. Regardless of who lights the flares, the host club is considered responsible for not preventing their entry, which is interpreted as a failure in the security operation.
When the second round of international tournaments concludes and disciplinary decisions are published, it will be known whether this situation results in a financial sanction. In a similar situation, when Estudiantes hosted Nacional of Uruguay, the team from La Plata had to payUS$ 40,000.
Incidents before the match and stadium entrances
Moments of violence were experienced before the start of the Copa Libertadores match between Estudiantes and Universidad de Chile. According to images and testimonies collected at the scene, the fight began at the central intersection of 8 and 50 and continued inside a local establishment in that area. There were recorded confrontations with punches, chair throwing, and injured people.

Meanwhile, a video captured at the scene shows how several visiting fans, many of them without tickets, demanded to enter the stadium amid shoving and insults. The access was closed by the Police after the quota of 2,500 tickets for visitors was filled.
