The creator of Metal Gear will participate in the event with Death Stranding 2 and may reveal more projects
Meanwhile, Physint is less advanced. According to Kojima himself, there are still at least five years to go before it is finished. Even so, he could leave some teaser or minor detail to keep attention alive.
The new installment expands the universe created in 2019, with richer gameplay and an equally ambitious story. According to the first impressions, Death Stranding 2 is more varied, more satisfying to play, and narratively just as powerful as its predecessor.
This time, Kojima is making a strong bet on a global campaign that includes interviews, promotional videos, and live presentations such as Summer Game Fest. His goal is clear: generate anticipation just days before the premiere.
In addition to Kojima, the participation of other developers with major announcements is expected. As every year, the event is shaping up to be one of the key moments for the industry.
Hideo Kojima will be one of the star figures at Summer Game Fest 2025, which takes place next June 6. The Japanese creator will use the event to continue promoting Death Stranding 2, his new production exclusive to PS5.
Geoff Keighley, the event organizer, confirmed his presence in what will be one of the most anticipated appearances of the show. The event will be broadcast live from 11:00 PM (Spain time) and everything indicates there will be news.
Everything suggests the focus will be on Death Stranding 2, which is scheduled for release on June 26 on PlayStation 5. However, clues about the other projects Kojima is working on can't be ruled out.
In addition to the sequel starring Norman Reedus, Kojima Productions is developing two more games: OD, a horror title in collaboration with Xbox, and Physint, a tactical stealth game with the spirit of a spiritual successor to Metal Gear Solid.
OD is the one most likely to be shown. Kojima already presented it in 2023 and described it as an experience that blends film and video games. The involvement of Jordan Peele and other horror directors adds to the anticipation.
