The Association of University Professors and Researchers of Córdoba (ADIUC) has called for new protest actions at UNC. The protests include marches and nationwide strikes against the presidential veto of the University Funding Law, which would have destroyed the fiscal surplus. Once again, students are left without classes due to union interests unrelated to academic excellence.
After 20 months of intermittent strikes, the union insists on maintaining the protest plan that harms students. On Tuesday, there was a walkout to mobilize the UNC Superior Council. On Wednesday, there will be a total strike of activities at all national universities.
The union leadership claims it seeks "to defend the public and free university." However, the repeated strikes have already caused the loss of exam sessions in July. The new measure threatens to further complicate students' coursework, who once again become hostages of union politics.

Another strike, same method: empty classrooms
The protest plan also includes handing out flyers at the UNC degree program fair on September 2. The demands are justified by university funding (already guaranteed), but the direct consequence is more days without classes.
The union's demands only result in students losing essential class hours. The academic calendar was already disrupted in July and now risks being extended even further. Students and families demand predictability and respect for the right to study.
Meanwhile, the unions wave political flags, students bear the frustration of seeing their educational process interrupted. The supposed academic debate is buried under ideological slogans.

Strike after strike: students pay the price
University strikes have ceased to be an exception and have become routine. Every year, unions turn UNC into a stage for partisan struggles. Educational quality suffers in the face of the obsession with exerting pressure in the streets.
The defense of the university can't be achieved by abandoning classrooms or suspending exams. On the contrary, it should be based on merit and excellence. The path chosen by the unions only erodes trust in the public and free education they claim to protect.
Uncertainty about academic continuity affects thousands of young people who only seek to study and graduate on time. In this context, the national government is promoting a policy of fiscal order that guarantees sustainability and rationality. Union resistance seems more related to corporate interests than to the future of education.
