Tension in PRO: they evaluate the possible expulsion of Bullrich and Larreta in the middle of the campaign
PRO, led by Mauricio Macri, must define the situation of both leaders in the coming weeks
Amid the electoral process for the 2025 Legislative Elections, PRO is internally debating the future of two of its most recognized figures: Patricia Bullrich and Horacio Rodríguez Larreta.
Meanwhile, the Security Minister of Javier Milei aligned with La Libertad Avanza (LLA) and its legislators broke away from the PRO bloc, the former mayor of Buenos Aires has yet to define his political role, as usual, but maintains his own space, the Development Movement (MAD).
A Divided PRO and the Possibility of Expulsions
PRO, led by Mauricio Macri, must define the situation of both leaders in the coming weeks. According to sources close to the party, the organic charter establishes the self-expulsion of any member who competes outside the space.
"We have to see if he launches as a candidate, the party's organic charter says that any member who competes outside of PRO self-expels," explained sources from the Macri circle about Larreta.
Meanwhile, Bullrich and her political team broke with PRO and aligned with Milei, which reinforces rumors about a possible candidacy in the national legislative elections under the LLA banner.

However, not everyone in PRO agrees with a formal expulsion. "If Larreta doesn't compete outside or Bullrich doesn't join La Libertad Avanza, there will be no news", party sources told PERFIL.
Internal Criticism and Opposing Stances
Former Culture Minister Pablo Avelluto assumed that Larreta is no longer part of PRO. "My former party, now Stalinist, undemocratic, and authoritarian, decided to expel one of its founders", he wrote on X, referring to the former Buenos Aires mayor.
The issue will have to be addressed in the PRO's Disciplinary Committee, where figures like Jorge Macri, María Eugenia Vidal, Cristian Ritondo, and Soledad Martínez have weight in the final decision.

Electoral Impact and Possible Alliances with Milei
PRO is also debating a potential alliance with La Libertad Avanza, which could be sealed in some districts, although not in the City of Buenos Aires. In this context, Jorge Macri faces criticism of his management and watches with concern the movements of Larreta, who could capture part of the "yellow" electorate with his MAD space.
Adding to this are Larreta's harsh criticisms of the current Buenos Aires government. "Buenos Aires is no longer what it was," he launched in a message that confirms his intention to return to the electoral fray.
While PRO faces internal tensions and defines its strategy, the possibility of expulsions remains latent, although for now, the party prefers not to take drastic measures. With the closing of lists on the horizon, the political landscape within PRO remains uncertain.
